RECENT ACTIVITIES

MEFOSA and the Ministry of Industry of Lebanon, carried out during the past years many conferences and seminars related to the importance of complying with preventive food safety laws (including FDA-FSMA, Health Canada and NZFSA). Currently we are conducting field visits to companies listed on the Detention without physical examination (DWPE) list, in order to help them update their HACCP system.

MEFOSA was also present during the Meetings for Arab-GAP and LEB-GAP Stakeholder for Lebanon. the project aims to enhance capacity for efficient, safe and quality food production through the adoption and use of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) for a responsible, effective and efficient food value chain in the Arab region or in other words it is seeking ways to assist countries and stakeholders of the region to adopt and implement an Arab-GAP certification scheme based on the framework of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).
